Ingredients
For Cake:
- 1 1/2 cups unsalted butter softened
- 2 1/4 cups granulated sugar
- 4 egg whites
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups Whole milk
For Maple Buttercream:
- 4 egg whites room temperature
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 cup bourbon barrel aged maple syrup
- 3 sticks unsalted butter softened
- 1 tablespoon vanilla bean paste
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
For Apple Pie Filling:
- 2 1/2 cups apples, preferably granny smith peeled, cored and cut into 1/4" dice
- 2 1/2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar packed
- 2 tablespoons corn starch
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- generous pinch salt
- 1 1/4 cups water
For White Chocolate Leaves:
- 5-10 leaves choose leaves with smooth texture on back, freshly washed
- 10 oz. white chocolate candy melts I like Ghirardelli
- copper luster dust
- vodka or alcohol to make the paint
